Wildlife Safari

So...we went to Wildlife Safari on Labor day weekend. Charlie loved it. On of the best things we saw was the bears playing. We watched them for several minutes. There were a lot of buffalo around and Charlie kept saying, "That's massive" whenever we would stop to look at one.
Here we are looking at an elk which he also liked.
After we went through the park we went to the petting zoo area.
And he found a playground to play at for awhile!
Jacob and Charlie having fun together
Jacob also wanted to take Charlie on a camel ride. It was really expensive and did not last very long...but Charlie really liked it...and so did Jacob.
We went on a train ride which Charlie loved. The went on a small loop through part of the park.
After spending time running around Charlie wanted to go and see the animals again. When you pay you actually get two tickets to go through on the same day...so we used the second one. This time through these two giraffs came about 3 feet from our car...it was neat.
Just before we finished the second time through Charlie finally got sleepy. He slept the rest of the way home!

At the Park

Charlie really likes to go to the park. I try to take him once or twice a week. This time I brought the camera. His favorite thing to play on are slides. Sometimes he jumps from the top step here...it always scares me but he has yet to hurt himself.

After the slide this is his favorite part of this play system.

This park also has a fun water area for him to play in. He runs around the outside of the water like a crazy man until he decides just what part of the water he wants to play in.
And this is usually the part of the water he likes the best. They do have water guns that work on a swivel...which he really likes, but there were a lot of kids there this day and he did not like to stand in line waiting for the water guns.

Charlie & Jacob

Here is a video of Charlie and Jacob playing with Shadow. It is in the morning so Charlie is still in his pajamas. In this video Charlie is perfectly happy and good...however maybe next time I will post one of him crying and having a fit...I think that happens just as often!

Grammy Lynn Visit

My Grammy came down to visit! Most of the time that she was here I could not find the camera, but we did find it and I managed to get a few good pictures.
This is him showing my grammy his lightening book. Ever sense we had the lightening storms he is really interested. We recorded a National Geographic show on lightening and we bought him a book. He has his favorite picture and he kept showing it to Grammy Lynn...who acted way more interested than I did as she has only seen it 20 time now!

Here they are are outside looking at something.
One more time outside right before she left...this is my favorite picture.
And for the second post in a row, here is something about somebody other than Charlie!
I have started canning. I have only done a few things but I am excited when they turn out. On the right you can see the pears that I did earlier and on the left is the applesauce that I did the other day. I think it looks pretty to have the food in the jars rather than the store bought cans.

Summer Time

We take Charlie down to the river all the time, and most of the time I forget to take the camera. These were from a couple of weeks ago.

I think that his smile might be a little crooked when I see this picture...oh well, he is still the cutest kid I know!

And just because this is supposed to be about our family I thought I would post this picture. Jacob hunts like mad up here and he shot a bear yesterday. Now we have to process all of the meat. We are making sausage and hamburger and a few roasts.

More Charlie

Yes...it has been awhile. I will post picts, but not much writting because I cut my finger and it makes it difficult to type!

So here he is with his train set. We keep it set up in his bedroom now because he plays with it almost every day!

He is sooooooooo cute!

We went to visit Wayne and Marys and happened to stay the night on the same night they were babysitting Reese & Valerie...they all had a good time!

And finally here are some birthday pictures...I can not belive he is 3 already!

Here he is after playing in his new pool

And one last thing. I made a different quilt so I thought I would post a picture.

Charlies Mail

My parents sent Charlie a wooden train set which he loves. I will post some pictures of him playing with that later. After he played with the train set for about 45 minutes he decided that the bubble wrap and the box were fun to play with as well.

In this video he is saying thank you...although you can not really understand him because he is more excited about playing than talking and he gets shy sometimes when I am taking pictures.

And finally here he is playing with the bubble wrap. He set it up so that he could jump from one to the other!

Charlie's Gun

Well...I know it has been awhile but in all fairness I have been busy. I was talking to my mom on the phone the other day and she let me know that it had been too long because the most recent post was the Christmas pictures. So here are some new Charlie photos. My son is really into guns. We have not purchased one for him...but everything he owns becomes a gun. I am a little concerned about him turning into a terrorist!!! We were playing outside and he found a piece of wood that worked good for a gun so here are some of the photos. He looks funny in this picture because he is shooting me and saying, "boom boom".
He also trys to be covert about it by hiding behind trees and walls when we are inside and then jumping out and shooting us.

Still shooting me!

I made him sit for a minute before I would give him his "gun" and this is the best I could get him to do...he was anxious!

He has the "gun" in these two photos as well...but he was holding it lower. This was actually on Friday and we had to put the "gun" in a special area outside when it was time to go in so that he could play with it on Saturday.

And finally...here is a video of him shooting me...he is just so cute!

Christmas Morning

Okay...so I know it is a little late, but here are some Christmas morning photos. This is the first year that we did all of Christmas in our own home, and it was wonderful to have all of that time together. This is the first present that Charlie opened and it was difficult to get him to open another one once he saw his tools.
He really liked his hot wheels and their track and he still plays with them every day.

This was his remote controlled car which he loves...but he is a little hard on it so I am always having to fix it.
